this page exists purely for Alpha Prime jibba jabba
The Player Previously Known as Foosh created a steam group for us http://steamcommunity.com/groups/alphaprimeffxiv
I’m not sure how you join it if you don’t have steam so 😄 /links this page to the rest of ya
This page will also serve as an FAQ for Foosh who asks me endlessss questions, I might as well publish it here -_-
Q: From Foosh – in order of loot priority, who gets higher priority? need or greed?
A: Need > Greed. When running with friends it’s best just to Greed instead of passing, so as the piece of gear is not lost if no one really ‘Needs’ it. They did mention implementing a system where you can accumulate ‘points’ to use towards Need or Greed roles, and you will have weekly limits. No news yet of this since it was mentioned last year. If implemented, then passing may be needed so as not to waste your weekly allowance.
Q: From Foosh – What does Piety affect and would it add more dmg boost to ARC and THM?
A: PIE specifically effects MP right now. The PIE > MP convert ratio will probably change in Phase 4 so I’m not going to elaborate on that right now. Currently there does not seem to be ‘secondary’ stats towards damage as it did in 1.0 (example, primary was dex secondary was pie for archer).
Q: From Foosh – Does PIE add more MP than INT then? And INT is still primary damage for THM right?
A: PIE is the only stat that adds MP. Int only increases magic damage potency for BLM and THM currently. For a quick stat reference, I’ve posted this article.
Q: From Foosh – So are the formulas pretty similar to FFXI? Or do I need to learn the affects of stats and attribution from a fresh start?
A: I suggest forgetting FFXI when playing FFXIV 😛
Q: From Foosh – So when I level Archer, my bonus attributes all goto DEX. Do the bonus stats carry over when I change jobs? Or is each job independent of its own bonus stats?
A: For now yes, I’m sure during Phase 4 testing we’ll know if secondary stats will come into play. The bonus carries over when you go from a class > a job. But each class has their own set of bonus stats to apply.
Q: From Foosh – What do the <> next to people’s names mean?
A: If you mean the letters enclosed in << >>, that designates their free company initials. For example mine is <> which stands for Dancing Mad free company. When we make Alpha Prime’s company for you guys it will be <>. We can choose what our initials look like on name tags.
